The German Design Council selected and honored the "Siemens Campus Erlangen Digital App", or SCE Digital App for short. The app uses the available BIM data (building information modeling) to let users experience and explore the campus during the planning phase.

"Outstanding Design Quality" of the Virtual Campus Tour

Instead of conventional, two-dimensional construction plans, the team created a kind of "digital twin" of the entire campus. The digital app was created together with Vuframe. With it, you can take a "virtual" walk across the campus even before the ground-breaking ceremony. You move through your own virtual world, under trees and on walkways between the buildings.

"Thanks to the app, anyone who is interested can explore the Siemens Campus Erlangen virtually, even during the construction phase."

Says Gabriele Engel, Head of PR, Siemens Campus.

We are very happy about this award. We see it as confirmation that, in the future, no company can ignore technologies such as augmented reality or virtual reality.

Says Andreas Zeitler from Vuframe.

In its work with Siemens, Vuframe shows that the much-discussed digitalization is very easy to implement, because the data (CAD or BIM) is already available in many projects.
